Leaders Set Vision
It's up to us as leaders to keep the vision alive.
The reality is, we are humans too.
We get discouraged, have hard days, have trouble leaving the woes of our personal life at the door.
But as leaders it's our job to show, by example, that we shall persevere even in hard times.
I don't think you have to hide your weaknesses from your fellow team members. In fact, I think there is a lot to be said for transparency.
Be authentic and show your real selves to those with whom you work.
But they aren't your shrink. If you need a shoulder to cry on, perhaps that place is with your spouse or a trusted friend. While you're in the midst of running numbers for the company is not the place to sob and tell of heartbreak.
So make sure your boundaries are healthy, your head is clear, and you are showing your teammates again and again the way you are heading. Someone needs to lead the way, and if it's not you, then whom?
